Principles [Nov. 7th, 2006|10:01 am]
Hmmm, I guess it has been a while since I set this thing up. :-) We will see if I decide to use it more this time around. At least it was quicker this time since I didn't have to set everything up.

So, my thought for the day is based on this quote:

"Get your principles straight. The rest is a matter of details."
-Napolean

This concept makes a lot of sense to me, though it leaves a significant question of what level of granularity your principles should deal with when being set for a particular purpose. I suppose it would make sense of they are the basis for your vision-level goals.

So, I guess one should start at the beginning, what are the principles that form the basis for living my life? How many should there be? 3,6,9? They need to be things that can always be followed and serve as a guide. It seems that a principled life makes the most sense, it gives some cohesion to our activities and can form the basis for a holistic world view that is still grounded enough to be useful.

Anyone out there want to share some of their principles?

Hello! [May. 22nd, 2004|06:21 pm]
[mood | blah]

Not sure why I decided to sign up for this thing, chuckles. I think I'm hoping to have someplace to write things down when random thoughts hit me, and maybe get some feedback on them. :-)

Today I'm sitting in a Cyber Cafe in Budapest, in two weeks I'll be back in the states. Trying to figure out what to do with myself, chuckles, 2 weeks left and all I'm comitted to doing is taking 1 more final.

It is rather annoying really, I have all sorts of new wallet chain designs that I want to make to add to the men's jewelry section of my website (http://www.maileofthedreamseeker.com), but I don't have any supplies/equipment over here! Going into withdrawal, 4 months without making chainmail, lol.

Well, back to work on the new website for my fencing club: http://www.whitman.edu/fencing
